Vietnam's Food and Beverage Sector Expands Despite Rising Market Competition

Vietnam's food and beverage sector demonstrated resilience in the opening months of 2026, generating industry revenue of approximately 432.7 trillion VND (16.7 billion USD) in the first six months of the year. This marks a notable increase from 406.1 trillion VND recorded during the same period in 2025, according to data released jointly by iPOS.vn and Nestlé Professional on September 9.

The sector's expansion reflects growing consumer demand and increased business activity across Vietnam's hospitality and dining landscape. However, the industry faces mounting pressure from intensifying competition as market participants vie for consumer attention and market share in an increasingly crowded field.

Beyond overall market performance, Vietnam's food and beverage segment continues to demonstrate product innovation and international engagement. Central Vietnamese specialties are inspiring the development of innovative coffee beverages, while several Vietnamese food businesses have made notable appearances at international trade events, including Fine Food Australia 2026. Upcoming international exhibitions focused on dairy products, ice cream, and modern beverages are expected to provide additional platforms for industry players to showcase offerings and explore business opportunities.

The sector's growth trajectory suggests sustained momentum for Vietnam's food and beverage businesses, though companies must navigate an increasingly competitive environment to maintain margins and market position.
