Vietnam's General Secretary and President To Lam has emphasized the critical role of higher education institutions in building advanced human resources to drive national development. Speaking on the matter, To Lam stressed that the country's leading economics university must pursue excellence across training, research, and community engagement to enhance its standing both regionally and globally.
The directive aligns with Vietnam's broader strategy to strengthen human resources development as a cornerstone of economic growth. Related initiatives are already underway, with Deputy Prime Minister pushing for expanded cooperation with Japan on workforce training and Can Tho province working with Laotian counterparts on skills development programs.
Experts convened at the Capital Economic Forum have similarly identified human resources as central to identifying and nurturing new growth drivers for the economy. The emphasis reflects recognition that Vietnam's future competitiveness depends on developing a skilled workforce capable of meeting evolving market demands and technological advances.
The call for elevated academic standards comes as Vietnam seeks to position itself as a regional hub for quality education and research, attracting both domestic talent and international recognition. Success in this endeavor is seen as essential to sustaining the country's development trajectory and improving living standards for its citizens.
