General Secretary and President To Lam is set to travel to Denmark, the European Union, and Belgium in a significant diplomatic engagement aimed at deepening Vietnam's relationships with European partners.
The visits have been extended by King Frederik X of Denmark and Queen Margrethe II, Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, and Bart De Wever, Prime Minister of Belgium. The itinerary underscores Vietnam's commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple levels of European governance and leadership.
Vietnam and Denmark have been working to strengthen their healthcare partnership, building on mutual interests in medical innovation and public health cooperation. The relationship reflects broader efforts to develop practical collaborations in key sectors affecting both nations.
Meanwhile, Vietnam and Belgium are advancing their cooperation more than 50 years after establishing diplomatic relations. The two nations have identified multiple areas for expanded engagement, capitalizing on their longstanding friendship and shared interests.
The diplomatic tour coincides with growing cultural exchange between Vietnam and Europe, including events such as the 16th European-Vietnam Documentary Film Festival, which recently opened in Hanoi. These initiatives demonstrate the deepening people-to-people connections accompanying official government engagement.
