Vietnam's mobile phone exports surge 20% to $51.8 billion in nine months

Vietnam's mobile phone exports climbed 20 percent to reach $51.8 billion during the first nine months of the year, underscoring the sector's continued expansion amid evolving global supply chains. The robust performance reflects sustained international demand for Vietnamese-manufactured smartphones, components, and related devices.

China emerged as the largest destination for Vietnamese mobile exports, accounting for $11.3 billion in shipments, followed by the United States with $9.48 billion and the Republic of Korea at $5.4 billion. The diversified customer base across Asia, North America, and other regions indicates Vietnam's strengthening position as a key player in the global mobile technology supply chain.

Bac Ninh province maintained its standing as the nation's leading hub for import-export activity, with the mobile phone sector contributing significantly to the province's commercial performance. The growth trajectory reflects Vietnam's competitive advantages in manufacturing efficiency and labor costs, as well as ongoing investments in production capacity by international technology companies.

Industry analysts attribute the sector's momentum to Vietnamese businesses expanding their export capabilities in an increasingly digital global economy. Beyond traditional markets, Vietnamese exporters have begun tapping emerging opportunities in markets such as Türkiye and Spain, broadening their customer networks and reducing dependence on established buyers.
