The Standing Committee of Vietnam's National Assembly convened its seventh session to deliberate on proposed revisions to key legislation governing the country's property sector. The amendments to the 2023 Law on Housing are designed to address practical issues that have emerged since the law's implementation while strengthening consistency across the legal framework.
According to legislative priorities, the housing law reforms seek to establish a more transparent and secure legal environment while lowering costs for regulatory compliance. The changes reflect feedback from implementation experience and aim to resolve ambiguities that have created operational challenges for market participants.
Parallel to the housing law review, the Standing Committee is examining a draft amended Law on Real Estate Business that proposes significant deregulation. The revised legislation would eliminate and simplify numerous investment and business conditions currently required for real estate enterprises, potentially making market entry easier for developers and reducing administrative obstacles.
The session also addressed prioritizing domestic bidding in procurement matters, signaling the committee's broader agenda on economic governance. These legislative initiatives come as Vietnam's property sector faces ongoing pressures and stakeholders have called for clearer, more efficient regulatory frameworks to support sustainable market development.
