Vietnam recorded 149,700 newly established businesses during the January-September period of 2026, marking a 3.2% increase compared to the same timeframe last year, according to official data. The growth reflects sustained momentum in the country's business formation landscape amid evolving economic conditions.
The expansion in enterprise registrations has been accompanied by a significant uptick in capital commitments. Total registered capital reached over 1.88 quadrillion Vietnamese dong, equivalent to approximately 71.6 billion U.S. dollars, representing a year-on-year increase of 32.7%. This substantial rise in investment capital underscores investor confidence in Vietnam's business environment and growth prospects.
The figures demonstrate the continued dynamism of Vietnam's entrepreneurial sector, with both domestic and foreign investors contributing to the expansion. The strong showing in business formations and capital injections suggests ongoing economic activity despite global uncertainties affecting the region.
The data comes as Vietnam continues implementing measures to enhance its business climate, including cybersecurity regulations aimed at protecting both local and international companies operating within the country. These regulatory developments are part of broader efforts to create a stable framework for business operations.
