Tran Thanh Man stressed that amending legislation must not serve as a substitute for proper implementation of existing laws, but acknowledged that outdated regulations continue to pose significant barriers to development across Vietnam's economy.
The National Assembly Standing Committee is currently reviewing draft revisions to housing and real estate business laws ahead of the second session, where lawmakers will evaluate the full slate of legislative proposals. Among the priority items are 17 draft laws submitted for consideration by full-time deputies, who have emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in legislative quality.
The push to streamline Vietnam's regulatory framework reflects ongoing efforts to modernize the legal environment for business and investment. Officials have indicated that the review process will balance the need for regulatory reform with maintaining adequate enforcement mechanisms to ensure compliance with existing statutes.
The National Assembly's second session is expected to serve as a critical venue for addressing regulatory gaps and modernizing the legal foundation for the country's continued economic development.
