The NA President emphasized the importance of balancing international experience with Vietnam's own practical audit work, urging state auditors to identify applicable methodologies from global partners while maintaining focus on local governance challenges.
The push for modernization comes as Vietnam's audit sector faces mounting pressure to meet emerging compliance demands across Southeast Asia's rapidly evolving business landscape. Officials stressed that strengthening the State Audit Office's capabilities would enhance its effectiveness in addressing fiscal accountability and transparency concerns.
The State Audit Office has been actively engaged in regional cooperation frameworks, contributing to multilateral audit discussions including the 63rd Governing Board Meeting of ASOSAI, the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions. Through such platforms, Vietnamese auditors have shared insights on domestic best practices while learning from peer institutions across the region.
By fostering deeper international partnerships and knowledge exchange, Vietnam aims to position its audit institutions as credible contributors to regional and global public sector accountability standards. Officials indicated that strategic collaboration with foreign audit organizations would help identify innovative approaches to address fiscal risks in Vietnam's modernizing economy.
