Public investment disbursement in Vietnam has gained significant momentum heading into the final months of the year, with nearly three-quarters of the annual spending target now deployed across infrastructure and development projects nationwide.
As of October 31, cumulative public investment disbursement totaled approximately 708.6 trillion VND, equivalent to over 27.5 billion USD, according to official figures. The sum marks a robust year-on-year increase of more than 217.5 trillion VND, underscoring accelerating implementation of capital spending programs.
The strong disbursement rate reflects ongoing efforts to channel public funds into priority development areas, with Vietnam maintaining its focus on infrastructure modernization and economic stimulus measures. The trajectory suggests the government remains on track to meet its full-year disbursement commitments.
With two months remaining in 2024, authorities are expected to intensify final-quarter spending to reach or exceed the annual target. Regional hubs including Can Tho and the capital Hanoi have emerged as key areas driving public investment activity, supported by partnerships with international development institutions including the World Bank.
