Vietnam's textile and garment exports have surpassed $36 billion during the January-September period, reflecting strong demand in key international markets. The achievement positions the sector on track to meet its full-year targets amid ongoing economic recovery globally.

State-owned Vinatex, the country's largest textile corporation, reported revenues of approximately 1.6 trillion Vietnamese dong—equivalent to $61.94 billion—in the nine-month period, representing 57.1 percent of its annual plan. More significantly, the company's pre-tax profit reached 336.6 billion dong, exceeding its target by 29.5 percent and marking a 218.7 percent year-on-year increase.

Industry officials have set an ambitious export target of $47.5 billion for the full year, with emphasis on accelerating green and digital transformation initiatives. To support sector growth and facilitate industry networking, Vietnam is hosting an international textile and garment exhibition in Hanoi, while Ho Chi Minh City has launched a specialized machinery exhibition focused on production technologies.

The sector's expansion reflects Vietnam's competitive advantages in manufacturing and labor costs, though industry leaders acknowledge the need to modernize production methods and adopt sustainable practices to maintain competitiveness in increasingly environmentally conscious global markets.
