President To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, met with Vietnamese diplomatic personnel and representatives of the Vietnamese community across Europe during a gathering in Brussels on October 21. The President was accompanied by his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly and senior members of a Vietnamese government delegation.

The engagement in the Belgian capital highlighted Vietnam's commitment to strengthening connections with its overseas communities while reinforcing diplomatic relationships in Europe. The meeting brought together staff from Vietnamese representative offices in Belgium with community leaders and members from across the European continent.

The visit forms part of President To Lam's official tour of the European Union and Belgium, during which Vietnam has sought to expand bilateral cooperation and explore new partnership opportunities with European counterparts. Such high-level diplomatic engagements typically signal Vietnam's intention to deepen economic, trade, and investment relations with European nations while maintaining cultural and institutional ties with Vietnamese citizens abroad.

The gathering underscores the strategic importance Vietnam places on its European partnerships and the role of diaspora communities in fostering those connections.
