To Lam, who holds Vietnam's top political positions as both Communist Party General Secretary and President, will travel to Japan for a four-day official visit beginning November 8. He will be accompanied by his spouse and senior members of a Vietnamese delegation during the trip, which concludes on November 11.
The visit reflects the strengthening bilateral relationship between Hanoi and Tokyo. Vietnam and Japan have expanded their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across multiple sectors, with cooperation developing both comprehensively and substantively in recent periods, according to Vietnamese officials.
Beyond high-level political engagement, cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries continue to deepen. A Vietnam-Japan sculpture exhibition is planned to bring together artists from both nations in Kanagawa, while Vietnamese language proficiency certificates have been presented to candidates taking examinations in Japan, indicating growing interest in Vietnamese language study among Japanese citizens.
The official visit is expected to provide an opportunity for To Lam to meet with Japanese counterparts and discuss bilateral matters of mutual interest, further solidifying the partnership between the Southeast Asian nation and Japan.
