Vietnam's top leader tours Denmark's innovative coastal development project

Vietnam's top leadership toured the Lynetteholm artificial peninsula project during an official visit to Denmark, examining how the innovative coastal development integrates climate change adaptation with urban expansion.

The General Secretary and President observed that Lynetteholm demonstrates how climate resilience initiatives can simultaneously create new development space, improve coastal environments, generate ecological benefits and deliver socio-economic returns. The project represents an approach that balances environmental protection with growth objectives—a model potentially relevant to Vietnam's own coastal challenges.

The visit coincided with Vietnam and Denmark formalizing their relationship into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both nations issued a joint statement affirming their commitment to expanded cooperation across multiple sectors, reflecting shared interests in sustainable development and regional stability.

The visit also highlighted the role of bilateral friendship associations in strengthening people-to-people connections and institutional ties between the two countries. Vietnam and Denmark have progressively deepened diplomatic and economic relations in recent years, with the partnership upgrade marking a significant milestone in their bilateral engagement.
