Vietnam is leveraging its natural hot spring resources as a foundation for year-round tourism expansion, according to statements made at an international forum. Ambassador Vu Duy Long outlined how the country has transformed thermal spring areas into comprehensive destinations combining resort facilities, therapeutic services, accommodation and real estate development.
The integrated model addresses a persistent challenge in tourism: reducing seasonal dependency by creating diverse attractions that appeal to visitors throughout the calendar year. By bundling hot springs with hospitality infrastructure and wellness offerings, Vietnam aims to maintain steady visitor flows beyond peak tourism periods.
The strategy reflects broader regional efforts to enhance tourism competitiveness. Similar initiatives are underway across Vietnam's key destinations, with major tourism operators expanding their portfolios. Quang Ninh province is advancing hot spring development alongside coastal tourism assets, while Da Nang has positioned itself as a green tourism destination targeting international markets.
Vietnam's thermal spring tourism model demonstrates how natural resources can be systematically developed into sustainable economic drivers when combined with modern hospitality standards and experiential services.
