Tran Cam Tu, a Politburo member and senior official within the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee Secretariat, expressed gratitude for Singapore's contribution to Vietnam's reform and development initiatives during recent discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Tu underscored Singapore's role in supporting Vietnam's international integration efforts through practical training programmes and knowledge transfer in critical areas including policymaking, economic management, and policy implementation. The emphasis on personnel training reflects both nations' commitment to building human capital and institutional capacity across government and business sectors.
The personnel cooperation initiative builds momentum on other fronts of the Vietnam-Singapore relationship. Trade between the two countries surged 46.8 percent during the first nine months of this year, signalling robust commercial ties. Additionally, both nations have moved to enhance capital market connectivity, creating new avenues for investment and financial collaboration.
Recognising skills gaps in emerging industries, Vietnam and Singapore have also begun expanding cooperation in semiconductor workforce training, positioning the region to capitalize on growing demand in advanced manufacturing and technology sectors. These coordinated efforts underscore both governments' alignment on regional economic priorities and their commitment to sustained partnership in the coming years.
