Vietnam, South Korea deepen ties through parliamentary and people diplomacy

The National Assembly President received the chairman of the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association on Tuesday, signaling Vietnam's emphasis on deepening people-to-people connections with the Republic of Korea. The discussion reflected the central role that civil society organizations, business groups and cultural associations play in building stronger foundations for the two countries' relationship.

During the meeting, Vietnam's top legislator expressed appreciation for South Korea's sustained support through its organizations, business community and private citizens. The NA President stressed that such grassroots engagement complements official diplomatic channels and helps translate high-level strategic commitments into tangible results for ordinary citizens.

The interaction comes as Vietnam and South Korea work to advance their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across industrial development, investment and technology sectors. The two nations have expanded parliamentary cooperation mechanisms to facilitate dialogue on shared interests and regional challenges.

Official relations between Hanoi and Seoul have grown significantly in recent years, with both governments prioritizing economic integration, scientific collaboration and cultural exchanges. Parliamentary engagement serves as a key vehicle for institutionalizing these ties and ensuring long-term sustainability of bilateral cooperation.
