Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister has called for enhanced coordination among government agencies in advancing the country's foreign affairs agenda while integrating culture, education and society into international engagement efforts.

The inter-sectoral working committee on foreign affairs and international integration in culture, society, education and training operates under the Central Steering Committee for Foreign Affairs and International Integration. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Party Committee serves as the committee's supporting body and standing secretariat.

The push for stronger coordination reflects Vietnam's broader diplomatic strategy to position culture as a key pillar of development. The UN recently adopted Vietnam's proposal for an International Decade of Culture for Sustainable Development, marking a significant diplomatic achievement for the Southeast Asian nation.

UNESCO has signaled its readiness to collaborate with Vietnam in implementing the International Decade initiative, while Vietnamese diplomats have highlighted the country's role in placing culture at the centre of the global development agenda. Officials view the integration of cultural and educational dimensions into foreign policy as essential to achieving sustainable development goals and strengthening Vietnam's international standing.
