National Assembly Vice President Nguyen Thi Thanh outlined a comprehensive vision for strengthening ties between Vietnam and Switzerland, emphasizing the need to move beyond traditional diplomatic relations toward substantive economic and technological collaboration.
Nguyen proposed a three-pillar approach anchored on the countries' historical friendship and established political trust. Economic cooperation would serve as the second foundation, while science, technology, and innovation would act as key drivers of future engagement.
The proposal specifically targets areas where Switzerland possesses recognized expertise and Vietnam has identified strategic needs. Finance, research and development, and advanced manufacturing represent potential focal points for expanded bilateral activity.
