The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed between Vietnam and the UAE creates new pathways for Vietnamese businesses to access markets across the Middle East and Africa, according to trade analysts. The deal removes trade barriers and facilitates commercial interactions that have been limited by geographic distance and existing trade frameworks.

Economic observers note that the agreement positions Vietnam to capitalize on growing demand in oil-rich Gulf states and emerging African markets. Vietnamese exporters of textiles, agricultural products, and manufactured goods stand to benefit from preferential access under the CEPA framework, potentially diversifying revenue streams away from traditional Western markets.

The UAE partnership also includes enhanced mobility provisions, with the Emirates granting visa-on-arrival status to Vietnamese citizens. This facilitation of travel is expected to strengthen business-to-business connections and support long-term commercial relationships between the two nations.

The agreement reflects Vietnam's broader strategy to deepen economic ties with the Middle East and Africa, reducing reliance on any single market and positioning the country as a reliable trading partner in multiple regions. Analysts suggest the pact could serve as a model for similar arrangements with other Middle Eastern nations seeking closer commercial ties with Southeast Asia.
