A cultural festival held in Ansan, Gyeonggi province, on October 18 brought together members of the Vietnamese community in South Korea to celebrate the seventh founding anniversary of the Vietnamese Migrant Women's Association (VMWA). The event featured traditional Vietnamese cultural performances and interactive activities that highlighted the nation's artistic heritage for both Vietnamese residents and South Korean attendees.

The timing of the celebration aligned with Vietnamese Women's Day, observed annually on October 20, creating an opportunity to recognize the contributions and experiences of Vietnamese women working and residing abroad. Through music, cuisine, handicrafts, and other cultural presentations, participants demonstrated Vietnam's rich traditions while strengthening community bonds among the diaspora population in the region.

The festival reflects growing cultural exchange initiatives between Vietnam and South Korea, where significant Vietnamese communities have established themselves over recent decades. Such gatherings serve as platforms for migrant associations to preserve cultural identity while fostering cross-cultural understanding between Vietnamese residents and their South Korean neighbors.

The VMWA, operating in one of South Korea's major Vietnamese population centers, continues to organize events aimed at supporting migrant women and maintaining connections to their homeland through regular cultural and social activities.
