Vietnamese Consul General in Perth Pham Hai Anh has urged members of the Vietnamese community in Australia to take on a greater role in preserving and promoting their nation's cultural identity on the international stage. Speaking at a cultural event, the diplomat emphasised the importance of maintaining the Vietnamese language, family traditions and national values among expatriate populations.

The call reflects a broader effort by Vietnamese officials to encourage diaspora communities to serve as cultural ambassadors. According to Pham, this mission requires balancing respect for tradition with openness to modern influences, ensuring Vietnamese culture remains vibrant and relevant in an increasingly globalised world.

Vietnamese associations across multiple regions—from the United Kingdom to other parts of Europe—have similarly prioritised cultural preservation in their strategic planning for the coming years. These organisations are focusing on strengthening intergenerational links through youth programmes, business networks and cultural initiatives designed to maintain community cohesion.

Local authorities within Vietnam have also been working to enhance the vitality and international visibility of national cultural practices. The coordinated efforts underscore a recognition among Vietnamese leadership that cultural heritage serves as both a source of national pride and a soft power tool for strengthening international relations.
