General Secretary and President To Lam, accompanied by his spouse and senior Vietnamese officials, engaged with the Vietnamese community and diplomatic personnel in Japan during his ongoing official visit. The meeting, held on the afternoon of November 8, brought together staff from Vietnamese representative offices and a substantial gathering of overseas Vietnamese residents in the country.
The engagement reflected efforts to strengthen ties with the Vietnamese diaspora in Japan and solicit input from community leaders on issues affecting overseas Vietnamese nationals. Such interactions are a customary component of high-level diplomatic visits, allowing leadership to maintain direct contact with expatriate communities and hear their concerns.
On the same day, To Lam's delegation also convened with Vietnamese experts and intellectuals employed in strategic fields. The meetings with academics and specialists underscored the Vietnamese government's interest in leveraging expertise from its diaspora in areas critical to national development and policy formulation.
The visit represents one of the highest-level bilateral engagements between Vietnam and Japan in recent times, with the meetings demonstrating both countries' commitment to deepening diplomatic and people-to-people connections.
