Vigilance probe launched into irregularities at Kochi housing project

Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) officials have begun a formal inquiry into reported irregularities affecting the Mundamveli P&T apartment project in Kochi, Kerala. The investigation follows complaints regarding the residential development, prompting authorities to conduct a comprehensive examination of the site and its operations.

During the inspection, VACB officials visited the apartment complex and its surrounding areas to assess conditions firsthand. The team gathered information from residents living in the project and interacted with members of a protest committee that has been raising concerns about the development.

The nature of the alleged irregularities has not been disclosed, but the commencement of the probe suggests substantive complaints have been filed with the vigilance authorities. Residents and protest committee members provided their accounts to officials during the inspection process.

The VACB investigation is expected to examine various aspects of the project's implementation and management. The findings of the inquiry will determine whether further action is warranted against officials or entities involved in the apartment project's development and administration.
