Thol Thirumavalavan, leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, said the Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) would expand its engagement with the opposition INDIA bloc to include nationwide demonstrations. The statement came after TVK formally joined the INDIA bloc's state unit in Tamil Nadu.
Thirumavalavan indicated that the newly-formed TVK, founded by actor Vijay, has signaled its readiness to participate in coordinated protests at the national level in the coming months. The party's involvement reflects its alignment with the broader opposition alliance's political agenda.
The TVK's commitment to the INDIA bloc represents a significant political development in Tamil Nadu, where regional parties have historically played crucial roles in state and national politics. The party has already begun engaging with the coalition's activities in the state, where electoral competition intensifies ahead of upcoming polls.
Vijay's entry into electoral politics through TVK earlier this year marked a notable shift in Tamil Nadu's political landscape, attracting considerable attention from both state and national observers monitoring opposition consolidation efforts.
