The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation has identified and earmarked 40 dedicated parking spaces strategically located across the city to accommodate the expected surge in vehicles during the Dasara festival period. Civic officials said the move is part of comprehensive traffic management arrangements being put in place ahead of the celebrations.
The designated parking slots have been positioned near major temples and community gathering spaces where Dasara festivities are scheduled to take place. Municipal authorities stressed that the initiative would help reduce congestion on city roads and provide devotees with convenient parking facilities during the peak festival period.
According to city administrators, the parking arrangements are among several measures being implemented to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance visitor experience during the festival. Additional traffic personnel have been deployed at key intersections and routes likely to experience heavy vehicular movement.
Local officials have also appealed to residents and visitors to utilize public transport and designated parking areas to minimise road congestion. Authorities warned that unauthorised parking would attract penalties in accordance with traffic regulations. The city has witnessed significant footfall during previous Dasara observances, necessitating enhanced infrastructure and management systems.
