Vijayawada to host back-to-back cultural festivals in October
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath has announced preparations for two major festivals scheduled for October. The Saras Mela and Vijayawada Utsav will utilise the city's prominent riverside venues for a series of cultural and commercial programmes.

The Saras Mela will run from October 8 to 23, followed by the Vijayawada Utsav from October 11 to 20, with the festivals overlapping for a ten-day period in mid-October. According to MP Kesineni Sivanath, the dual events will bring together cultural performances, commerce and community engagement across multiple venues in the city.
The 18-acre Punnami Ghat has been identified as the primary venue for hosting both festivals. The sprawling waterfront location on the Krishna River will serve as the focal point for the majority of scheduled programmes and exhibitions.
Beyond the riverside ghat, event organisers have secured the Makineni Basavapunnaiah Stadium as an additional venue to accommodate the expected crowds and diverse range of activities. This multi-venue approach aims to distribute visitor footfall and provide varied entertainment options across the city.
The festivals mark a significant calendar event for Vijayawada, drawing both cultural enthusiasts and business participants. Detailed schedules for individual programmes and exhibitions are expected to be released as preparations advance.
