Village Official Among Three Arrested in General Santos Drug Bust

COTABATO CITY — Law enforcement officers arrested a village official and two others during a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Labangal, General Santos City, on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Philippine National Police. The suspects were taken into custody along with a substantial quantity of narcotics. Brig. Gen. Alan Manibog, regional director of the Police Regional Office for Region 12, confirmed the arrests and disclosed the value of confiscated drugs at a press briefing Wednesday. The operation targeted the sale of controlled substances in the barangay, which sits in the southern Mindanao port city. Authorities have launched an investigation into the suspects' alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade and are preparing appropriate charges against them.
