VinFast targets US market with electric bus platform launch

VinFast has announced plans to introduce its eBus platform to the US market, with certified vehicles expected to commence deliveries in the first quarter of 2028. The move represents a strategic step in the company's broader development plans to strengthen its presence in North America's transportation sector.

The initiative comes as VinFast consolidates its position in its home market, where the automaker has maintained the leading position in Vietnam's automotive sector for 24 consecutive months. This sustained domestic success provides a foundation for the company's international expansion efforts.

Beyond North America, VinFast is also pursuing growth opportunities in Southeast Asia. The company has established a joint venture with Gowa Motor Group to expand its dealership network in Indonesia, underscoring its commitment to regional market penetration across the broader Asia-Pacific region.

The eBus platform launch represents part of VinFast's larger strategy to diversify its vehicle offerings beyond passenger automobiles. Electric buses have become increasingly important in global urban transportation as cities worldwide seek to reduce emissions and improve air quality.

The US market entry will test VinFast's ability to compete in a highly competitive segment dominated by established manufacturers. Success in delivering certified electric buses could open additional opportunities for the Vietnamese automaker in North American municipal and commercial transportation sectors.
