A constable posted to the security detail of Union Minister Jyotirardya Scindia was apprehended in Guna after a video showed him engaging in disruptive behaviour while apparently under the influence of alcohol. According to reports, the officer, identified as Manoj Verma, absconded from his VIP protection assignment to consume alcohol at a marketplace location.
Witnesses said the constable became confrontational during the incident, at one point discarding his government-issued rifle. He allegedly engaged in altercations with local youths, using abusive language and physical intimidation. The situation escalated when law enforcement arrived at the scene, with the officer reportedly shoving police personnel as they attempted to restrain him.
The incident, which was captured on video and subsequently circulated on social media, has prompted official scrutiny of security protocols and personnel conduct.
