Visakhapatnam and ASR districts gear up for municipal body elections

Officials in Visakhapatnam and Alluri Sitarama Raju districts have initiated comprehensive assessments of their preparedness for the forthcoming local body elections, focusing on critical operational areas including voter registration, polling infrastructure, and security arrangements.

The review process encompasses verification of voter rolls, updating of electoral rolls, and assessment of available polling stations across the districts. Authorities are also ensuring adequate supply of election materials, ballot boxes, and electronic voting machines to facilitate seamless voting on the scheduled date.

Security agencies have been coordinating with election officials to formulate protocols for maintaining law and order during the polling period. The districts are preparing deployment plans for security personnel across sensitive constituencies and polling booths.
