Visayas, Mindanao brace for heavy rainfall as weather system moves in

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration warned of heavy rains across the Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday as the intertropical convergence zone shifts over these areas. Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez issued the alert in the bureau's 5 a.m. forecast, cautioning residents and local authorities to prepare for wet conditions.

The southern and central regions should expect widespread rainfall throughout the day, potentially causing flooding in low-lying and flood-prone communities. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates closely and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during the period of heavy precipitation.

In contrast, Luzon will experience fair weather conditions on Wednesday, though forecasters noted the region will remain hot and humid. The capital and surrounding provinces should expect typical dry-season conditions with no significant rainfall expected during the forecast period.
