Parts of the Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies, rain and thunderstorms on Monday as the trough of super typhoon Choi-Wan continues to affect the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said in the 5 a.m. weather forecast that the trough's influence will keep southern regions wet during the day. Residents in these areas are advised to remain alert for possible flooding and flash floods in low-lying and mountainous regions.
In contrast, Luzon is expected to experience generally fair weather conditions as the weather system moves away from the main island group. The capital region and surrounding provinces should see clearer skies and lighter winds compared to the southern portions of the country.
The state weather bureau continues to monitor Choi-Wan's movement and will issue updated forecasts as conditions develop. Filipinos in affected areas are reminded to stay informed of official weather updates and take necessary precautions during the rainy period.
