The reconstructed Pydithalli Ammavaru temple in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, is prepared to host its Sirimanotsavam festival on October 27 following an extensive restoration project valued at ₹1.8 crore. The 1757-built shrine has been modernized to accommodate larger congregations, with improvements including expanded queue management infrastructure.
As part of the renovation efforts, the Department of Endowments has acquired adjoining land parcels to establish additional prasadam (blessed food offering) distribution counters. This acquisition addresses long-standing capacity constraints during major festivals, when devotee numbers surge significantly.
The temple's reconstruction represents a significant investment in preserving a heritage structure while enhancing visitor amenities. The October 27 celebration marks the first major festival following the completion of the refurbishment work, with organizers expecting substantial participation from the local and surrounding communities.
The improvements aim to streamline crowd management and ensure a more organized experience for pilgrims attending the annual observance. Officials have prepared the expanded facilities to handle the increased footfall typical during Sirimanotsavam festivities.
