Volkswagen to slash 100,000 jobs globally by end of decade

Volkswagen said Thursday it would eliminate a total of 100,000 positions across its global operations by the end of the decade, marking one of the automotive sector's most significant workforce reductions in recent years. The German carmaker revealed that management and union representatives had reached consensus on the cutting of an additional 50,000 roles, supplementing earlier announced reductions of similar magnitude.
