Volvo Cars has officially launched the EX90, its flagship battery-electric SUV, in India as the company strengthens its presence in the region's rapidly expanding EV segment. The premium six-seat SUV is engineered to deliver a claimed range of 625 kilometres per charge, positioning it as a competitive option in India's high-end electric vehicle market.
Customers who have reserved the EX90 can expect to receive their vehicles starting January 2027, marking a significant milestone for the brand's electrification strategy in South Asia. The vehicle represents Volvo's commitment to offering sophisticated, technology-driven electric mobility solutions to Indian buyers seeking premium alternatives to conventional combustion engines.
The company has also teased the forthcoming ES90 electric sedan, which will expand Volvo's EV portfolio in India. The sedan variant is expected to appeal to customers preferring a traditional body style while maintaining access to Volvo's advanced electric powertrain technology and safety features.
This launch underscores the growing momentum in India's electric vehicle adoption, particularly in the luxury segment where international manufacturers are increasingly investing to meet rising demand from affluent consumers and corporate buyers prioritising sustainability.
