MANILA — An analyst called to testify before the prosecution panel on Monday characterized Vice President Sara Duterte's spending patterns as "unusual," citing credit card transactions totaling more than P200,000 at discount store Don Quijote across multiple visits in 2025.
According to the analyst's presentation, the Vice President made purchases at two separate Don Quijote outlets on three separate occasions using her credit card. The testimony forms part of ongoing proceedings examining the financial transactions of the high-ranking official.
The analyst's comments about the nature and frequency of the transactions have drawn attention to the Vice President's personal spending habits during the period under review. Prosecutors introduced the financial data as evidence in their case.
The Vice President has not yet publicly responded to the analyst's characterization of her purchases as unusual. The proceedings continue as the prosecution panel examines additional evidence related to the Vice President's financial activities.
