MANILA — Forensic financial analyst Alexander Cabrera has revised upward his assessment of Vice President Sara Duterte's unexplained wealth to approximately P1.5 billion, nearly double his previous estimate of P817.87 million.
Cabrera's revised calculation incorporates P475 million in confidential funds that were not included in his initial analysis, along with a less conservative evaluation of transactions flagged by the Anti-Money Laundering Council and involving GenCorp Industries Inc.
The analyst presented his updated findings on Monday, highlighting significant discrepancies between reported income sources and accumulated assets. The revision reflects a more comprehensive accounting methodology that captures additional financial flows previously excluded from the initial assessment.
The matter remains subject to ongoing scrutiny as financial investigators continue examining the scope and nature of the transactions in question. Cabrera's analysis represents one of several forensic reviews examining the Vice President's financial records.
