House prosecution adviser Robert Ace Barbers said investigators will examine corporate earnings and property acquisitions connected to Vice President Sara Duterte and her spouse, lawyer Manases Carpio, as part of a broader review of her statements of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN).

Barbers outlined the verification process during a Sunday interview on DZBB AM radio, indicating that financial documents and property records would be matched against the disclosures Duterte has filed. The cross-checking of such records is a standard procedure used to assess the completeness and accuracy of required financial statements.

The scrutiny comes as questions have been raised about the vice president's financial disclosures and their alignment with documented business activities and real estate transactions. Officials have indicated that any discrepancies between filed documents and actual corporate or property dealings could prompt further investigation.

Under Philippine law, public officials are required to file annual SALNs listing their assets, liabilities, and net worth. These documents serve as a public accountability measure and are subject to verification by oversight bodies.
