Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday called for evolved corporate governance standards and heightened organisational agility as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and complex business models fundamentally alter the operational landscape for Indian enterprises.
Addressing the 58th Foundation Day celebration of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in the national capital, Dhankhar stressed that trust, transparency, and exemplary governance practices are essential pillars sustaining investor confidence. "If that confidence is lost, progress becomes impossible," he cautioned.
The Vice President acknowledged that technological advancement creates an environment where current practices risk obsolescence within months or years. He underscored the necessity for all stakeholders—particularly company secretaries and corporate leaders—to remain adaptive and responsive to evolving circumstances.
The ICSI, the statutory apex body overseeing company secretaries in India, represents the interests of over 80,000 members and more than 2.5 lakh students across the country. The institute plays a pivotal role in professionalising corporate governance practices and ensuring compliance standards.
