Vrindavan Ashram Suspends Initiations Following Disciple's Death

The ashram of spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan has implemented sweeping operational changes in the wake of the death of a prominent disciple, Rasik Dulari Sharan, also known as Deepak Lodhi. The changes mark a significant shift in the ashram's daily functioning and devotee engagement practices.

Initiation ceremonies at Keli Kunj, a major site within the ashram complex, have been suspended indefinitely, according to announcements made by ashram staff. Token-based darshan services, which typically allow devotees to view the deity for a specified period, have also been halted. Additionally, the ashram has suspended organized darshan sessions for initiated devotees at the Yamuna Vihar Kunj Belvan facility.

Ashram attendants communicated the operational changes to devotees through public address announcements, ensuring awareness of the temporary restrictions. The nature and duration of these suspensions remain unclear, with ashram officials providing limited details about the circumstances prompting the comprehensive service changes.

The death of Lodhi, a long-serving disciple and apparently a key figure in the ashram's daily operations, appears to have prompted a reassessment of the facility's management practices. The simultaneous suspension of multiple services suggests the ashram may be undergoing internal organizational review during this transition period.
