South Africa's premier cricket venue, the Wanderers Stadium, has secured hosting rights for two major fixtures at the 2027 ODI World Cup in India. The ground in Johannesburg will stage the tournament final, marking the second time it has hosted the championship decider after previously doing so in 2003.

Beyond the final, the 30,000-capacity Wanderers will also host the high-profile India-Pakistan encounter scheduled for October 10 during the tournament. The selection of the Johannesburg ground over alternative venues such as Newlands in Cape Town underscores its status as South Africa's largest cricket facility.

The dual hosting assignment reflects the international cricket council's confidence in the Wanderers' infrastructure and track record in staging major tournaments. The venue remains one of the most iconic cricket grounds in the Southern Hemisphere and has a history of hosting significant international matches.

The 2027 ODI World Cup will be held in India, with fixtures distributed across multiple venues throughout the country. The tournament represents a significant calendar event for international cricket, with teams competing for the sport's most prestigious one-day format championship.
