Lucknow police continue their search for Shraddha Dubey, the primary accused in the high-profile murder of prominent businessman Shiva Sharma. The suspect has remained at large for more than ten days, consistently evading law enforcement efforts despite a 50,000 rupee bounty announced for information leading to her arrest.
Dubey returned to Lucknow on Sunday following time spent across the border in Nepal, but quickly disappeared from the city again. According to police sources, the accused is pursuing a strategy to secure anticipatory bail and arrest stay orders through the courts. She has reportedly issued repeated statements professing her innocence as part of efforts to strengthen her legal position against prosecution.
The case has prompted action against investigating officials. The Hazratganj police inspector has been placed on line and sent to police headquarters, while IPS officer Vikrant Veer has been attached to the Directorate General of Police office, reportedly due to lapses in the investigation and the suspect's continued ability to evade capture.
The investigation into Sharma's death remains active, with authorities intensifying efforts to apprehend Dubey before she can secure court protection. The case has drawn significant attention in Lucknow's business community and raised questions about the police force's ability to detain high-profile suspects.
