Water levels drop at Lake Lanao and Pulangi Dam amid dry spell

Water levels at Lake Lanao in Lanao del Sur and Pulangi Dam in Bukidnon have declined significantly as rainfall remains scarce across Mindanao, according to local authorities. As of Tuesday noon, the water level at Lake Lanao measured 700.7 meters, while Pulangi Dam's level stood at 283.9 meters, officials confirmed. Attorney Edgar Ramirez, speaking from Iligan City, attributed the receding water levels to the lack of precipitation in recent weeks. The dry conditions affecting the region have raised concerns about water availability, particularly for communities dependent on these water sources for domestic use and agricultural irrigation. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely as environmental officials assess whether additional conservation measures may be necessary.
