MANILA — A new low-pressure area formed outside the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday, with no indication it will intensify into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours, according to the state weather bureau.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, or Pagasa, disclosed the development in its morning weather forecast for the day. The agency said monitoring of the system would continue as it tracks weather patterns affecting the region.

Residents and disaster management officials are advised to remain alert to weather updates as conditions can change. The weather bureau typically issues regular forecasts to keep the public informed of any atmospheric disturbances that may affect the archipelago.

No significant weather threats were reported for most of the country as of Friday morning, though Pagasa urged communities to maintain standard weather preparedness measures during the tropical cyclone season.
