Weather system expected to enter Philippine waters this weekend
The state weather bureau says a low-pressure area could intensify into a tropical depression and move into the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday or Saturday, bringing stronger southwest monsoon conditions.

A low-pressure area is forecast to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by the end of the week, potentially developing into a tropical depression, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Thursday.
The weather system is expected to arrive Friday or Saturday and would strengthen the prevailing southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, according to Pagasa weather specialists.
The possible tropical depression would bring enhanced monsoon conditions across the country, which typically result in increased rainfall and stronger winds across western sections of the archipelago.
Filipinos in affected areas are advised to monitor updates from Pagasa as the low-pressure area develops and moves into Philippine waters. The agency is expected to issue regular weather bulletins tracking the system's movement and intensity.
