Rain will sweep across much of the Philippines on Saturday as a low-pressure area embedded within the intertropical convergence zone moves over the archipelago, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

Pagesa's 4 a.m. weather bulletin Saturday indicated that cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected to develop over Metro Manila and numerous other areas throughout the country.

The weather system poses a potential hazard for outdoor activities and travel over the coming hours. Residents in affected areas are advised to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions against possible flooding and landslides in vulnerable locations.

Pagesa continues to track the movement of the weather disturbance and will issue updates as conditions develop throughout the day.
