The low-pressure area trough, which remains within the Philippine area of responsibility, is expected to bring wet weather to affected regions as it continues its track through the archipelago. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued the forecast in its 4 p.m. weather advisory on Thursday, alerting residents in the affected areas to prepare for potentially hazardous conditions.
Scattered rains and thunderstorms are anticipated to persist throughout Friday, with the system's effects concentrated in portions of the Visayas island group and the island of Mindanao. Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas are advised to remain vigilant, as localized flooding and landslides may occur during periods of heavy rainfall.
The weather bureau has urged the public to monitor updates as the system moves across the region. Fishing communities and maritime traffic are also advised to exercise caution during the period of inclement weather.
