Weekday visits recommended for Kusu Island during annual pilgrimage season

The Singapore Land Authority has urged visitors to consider making weekday trips to Kusu Island during the coming pilgrimage season in an effort to distribute crowds more evenly throughout the period.

The eight-week pilgrimage season will commence on October 10 and conclude on November 8, drawing devotees to one of Singapore's most visited pilgrimage sites. The authority's recommendation reflects preparations to manage the influx of visitors expected during this religiously significant period.

Kusu Island, located off Singapore's southern coast, serves as a major destination for Taoist and Muslim pilgrims seeking spiritual blessings and observances. Visitors during the season typically ascend the island's 152 steps to reach temples and shrines situated at elevated points.

By encouraging weekday visitation, authorities aim to prevent the congestion that typically accompanies weekend crowds, potentially improving the experience for all pilgrims while reducing strain on the island's facilities and transportation services.
