The World Economic Forum has signaled its readiness to establish a strategic cooperation mechanism aimed at mobilising private-sector engagement and international support for Vietnam's key initiatives as the country prepares to take the helm of APEC in 2027.
Under the partnership framework, the WEF will co-brand the Autumn Economic Forum 2026, which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City. The event is expected to serve as a platform to galvanise support from multinational corporations, international organisations, and key stakeholders for Vietnam's APEC agenda.
The cooperation reflects growing recognition of Vietnam's economic significance in the Asia-Pacific region and its role in shaping regional economic policy. APEC, which brings together 21 economies accounting for roughly 60 percent of global GDP, provides Vietnam with an opportunity to advance regional integration and address shared economic challenges.
By establishing this high-level mechanism, the WEF and Vietnam aim to ensure coordinated action among private-sector actors and government stakeholders in pursuit of the country's APEC priorities. The partnership underscores the increasing convergence between multilateral economic forums and regional host governments in driving economic cooperation across Asia-Pacific.
