West Bengal bypoll: Opposition candidates allege campaign intimidation

Opposition candidates contesting the West Bengal bypoll have levelled serious allegations of intimidation during the campaign phase. Congress candidate Milan Pradhan has moved for bail after his arrest, with his wife asserting that the charges against him are fabricated and designed to obstruct his electoral participation.
AJUP's Humayun Kabir has separately alleged that his campaign supporters face systematic harassment. Despite these challenges, Kabir has indicated his confidence in the electoral process, suggesting that results on polling day will vindicate his position.
The allegations underscore mounting tensions in the bypoll campaign, with opposition parties claiming that ruling dispensation is using legal mechanisms to suppress dissent. Election authorities have not yet responded to the charges. The bypoll is scheduled to proceed amid these allegations of electoral misconduct.
